LifeTime Composites LLC began with the objective of creating a product that can serve as a sustainable replacement for wood in any nonstructural application: in which wood is deteriorated by the elements. The result of our years of extensive research, development and product design is LifeTime Lumber®, an eco-friendly wood alternative that uses up to 60 percent recycled fly ash.
It is our mission to be an environmentally conscious company that creates a green and sustainable product. There are no harmful emissions from our production plant, and LifeTime Lumber’s energy efficient manufacturing process consumes a minimal amount of water and electricity compared to other products.
LifeTime Lumber® reduces our dependency on natural resources because it contains absolutely no wood. The manufacturing process reuses fly ash – a non-hazardous mineral recovered from the combustion of coal in electric utility plants – by introducing it as the recycled content of the lumber. LifeTime Lumber® products also conform to recycled content criteria under the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) Green Building Rating System™, and meet the necessary criteria for recycled content claims based on internationally recognized standards and guidance established by the International Organization for Standardization and the US Green Building Council.
With its environmentally friendly properties and manufacturing process, as well as its ability to act as a durable alternative for wood in traditional applications, LifeTime Lumber® is a viable component of the tool kit for today’s burgeoning green construction industry.
